The Multicurrency feature in Ruddr allows for a currency to be applied at a project level. This can result in a Ruddr client having multiple projects, each with different currency. In this case, Ruddr also allows for project invoicing for each of these currencies, resulting in a single client having invoices that are in different currencies.
For example, the Acme Consulting client may have locations in the US and in Canada. If you have projects for that client in both locations, you may set up US projects to be in USD currency and projects for the Canadian locations may be set to CAD. Invoices can be created for the USD projects in USD currency and for the Canada projects, invoices can be created in CAD.
However, if your Acme Consulting customer in QBO is set to USD, you would be unable to save CAD invoices to this customer. If you attempted to save the CAD invoices to that customer, you would receive the following message:
- Business Validation Error: You can only use one foreign currency per transaction.
As such, you will need to ensure that you have two customers created in QBO. You will need a customer that is set to USD and a second one set to CAD. You will need to replicate that setup in Ruddr, having a client in USD, where all of its projects are in USD, and a second client in CAD, with all of its projects in CAD.
The two Ruddr clients would then need to be appropriately mapped to the two QBO customers in the QBO Integration Settings to ensure that all USD invoices were saved to the USD QBO customer, and likewise for the CAD invoices.
