In order for a member to create opportunities in the Pipeline area of Ruddr, the member's security role must include the Administer all companies and opportunities permission in Security Roles. To create an opportunity, access the Opportunities list by clicking on Pipeline in the nav bar and then selecting the Opportunities sub-menu option (Figure 1).

At the top of the list screen, there is + button (Figure 2). Click on this button to create an opportunity. This will prompt you (Figure 3) to enter initial data with which to create the opportunity.

Creating a Project from an Opportunity
As an opportunity advances through opportunity stages and the probability increases, you may wish to align a new project with the opportunity. Creating a new project would allow you to allocate resources, forecast hours and revenue, and provide an initial project configuration.
As mentioned above, an opportunity can be associated with an existing project. For opportunities that do not yet have a corresponding project, a project can be created from the opportunity, bringing over specific details of the opportunity as project settings. When creating a project from an opportunity, the project will be initially set to a Tentative project status.
On the opportunity dashboard, you will see a Projects tab (Figure 6). Clicking on that tab will take you to a view where you can see any associated projects, you can associate a new project to the opportunity, or you can associate an existing project to the opportunity.
Figure 6 - The Projects Tab on the Opportunity Dashboard Allows you to Associate New or Existing Projects
A New Project button (Figure 7) will be displayed at the top of the Projects tab, next to the Associate Existing Project button (Figure 8).

Upon clicking the New Project button, you will be prompted (Figure 9) to provide some details regarding the new project. Note that the Project Name will default to the name of the opportunity. If a Ruddr client is associated with the opportunity's company, then the Client name will be defaulted to that client and disabled. If a client is not associated with the company, you will be prompted to either select a client or to create a new client to associate with the project.

Clicking Save will create a project and you will be taken to the project dashboard for the project to continue editing project details.
When you click on the Associate Existing Project button (Figure 8), a dropdown (Figure 10) will be presented with a list of projects for the client that is associated with the opportunity's company. Select the project that you wish to associate with the opportunity.
