# Rippling Integration Overview

Rippling is a commonly-used workforce management platform that automates operational functions such as HR, IT, and Finance. These capabilities include:

### Key Integration Benefits

The Ruddr integration for Rippling provides an enriched, member-management experience for Ruddr Workspace Admins. From creating new members to synching approved time off, Ruddr's integration with Rippling facilitates member and time management between the two systems.

#### Automatically Create New Members in Ruddr

The Rippling integration can be configured to create a new member in the Ruddr workspace when an employee is added to Rippling. Additionally, Workspace Admins can configure the integration to:

* Automatically invite the new Ruddr member to the workspace
* Automatically set the new Ruddr member as billable

#### Manage Member Status via Rippling

If configured, the integration can manage the Active / Inactive status of Ruddr members. If a Rippling employee is deactivated, the integration will deactivate the member in Ruddr. If the employee is later reactivated in Rippling, the integration will reactivate the member in the Ruddr workspace.

#### Manage Key Member Data Fields via Rippling

If configured, the integration can manage key fields related Ruddr members:

* Name
* Email
* Job Title
* Manager
* Internal ID
* Active Dates

#### Sync Approved Time Off Time Entries in Ruddr

Rippling is often used for managing Paid Time Off ("PTO") and other types of time off. With the Rippling integration configured, any approved time off request in Rippling will automatically sync to Ruddr. Ruddr will then manage any edits to Rippling time off requests by ensuring that the time entries in Ruddr are updated / deleted as necessary.

Note that time off entries created by this integration will be locked in Ruddr (Figure 1).

#### Single Sign-On

If your organization leverages Rippling as an Identity Provider, you can set up Ruddr such that your members login with their Rippling credentials.

Note that Rippling requires that Ruddr support Rippling Single Sign-On. This will require that the Identity and Access Management module in Rippling is available.
